Tall storage vessel, early to mid-20th century.
Black-glazed earthenware from Shanxi Province, China. Originally used as a rice container, the vessel has a strong vertical shape, a defined neck, and a thick-walled body.
The dark glazed surface is marked by age and use, with exposed areas across the shoulder and a raw, unglazed rim. Compared to lighter storage vessels of this type, this piece has a heavier body and thicker walls – visible in its proportions, weight, and surface depth.
A large, decorative vessel with a utilitarian origin. One of a kind.
Available from mid June 2026.
