This charming little Edwardian sapphire and diamond ring was made in Chester, c.1907. Set with three natural unheated blue sapphires, cushion-shaped old-cut with a combined weight of 0.26ct. The central sapphire has a lovely dusk-blue tone, the shade of the sky after the sun's gone down but the moon hasn’t yet risen. The further two sapphires differ slightly in hue, one slightly more violet, the other inky-blue - imperfectly perfect and totally endearing. Two chunky old-mine cut diamonds sit between the striking blue sapphires and have a lovely warmth to them that can only be seen in antique, hand-cut stones. Decoratively claw set and mounted in a honey-hued 18ct yellow gold five-stone ring that is dainty, demure and undeniably adorable.
Unless stated otherwise, gem weights and specifications are estimated (assessed in mount).
