For sale here is an F.E. Thomas Special grade - 8' 2/2 for a five weight line. Made in 1954. The rod is in excellent overall refinished condition. Replacement red silk wraps. There are a few nicks in the varnish. All sections are full length and straight. Attractive swelled butt. Cigar grip 5 3/4" in length is soiled and very finely ridged. Nickel silver cap and ring reel seat over a mortised wood spacer. The ferrules are size 13/64 with a nice, tight fit. Indented witness marks on the ferrule. The rod weighs 4 1/4 oz. The action is medium fast dry fly....very nice. Original bag with hang tag intact and the original tube with the Thomas "badge" label.
