Differential probes let earth-grounded oscilloscopes make safe, accurate floating measurements between two voltage points. The PR65 Series high-voltage differential probes convert floating signals into low-voltage, ground-referenced signals that can be displayed safely on any ground-referenced oscilloscope. The series comprises two models — the PR65 and the PR67 — sharing a common 30 MHz architecture while differing in attenuation ratio and maximum input voltage.
The PR65 Series is intended for precision power-semiconductor work, switch-mode power supply design, general floating measurements, power converter measurements, and precision motor-drive measurements. In each of these applications the probe isolates a floating signal from the oscilloscope's grounded input so the waveform can be observed without the safety and accuracy compromises of a direct connection.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois, and has specialized in new and used test-and-measurement equipment since 1992.
The PR65 Series consists of two 30 MHz high-voltage differential probe models — the PR65 and the PR67 — that share a common platform, including 30 MHz bandwidth, 14 ns rise time, ±2% gain accuracy, a 1000 V CAT III rated input each side to ground, and cTUVus certification to IEC 61010-031:2015. The two models differ in their switchable attenuation ratios and their maximum differential and common-mode input voltages.
Both models offer the same interface and power flexibility: an insulated BNC output, insulated 4 mm sheathed banana-plug inputs, a voltage over-range indicator, and power from AA batteries, a USB-equipped oscilloscope, or the included mains adapter. The choice between them is driven by the voltage level of the signal being measured.
Each model below links to its own dedicated product page with new-matched pricing. Select the model whose voltage and attenuation range fits your measurement, then choose the listing for the condition you need.
The PR65 provides switchable 10x / 100x attenuation and a maximum differential and common-mode input voltage of ±70 V at 10x or ±700 V at 100x (DC + AC Peak).
The PR65 uses 10x / 100x attenuation with a maximum input of ±70 V at 10x and ±700 V at 100x (DC + AC Peak). The PR67 uses 20x / 200x attenuation with a maximum input of ±140 V at 20x and ±1400 V at 200x (DC + AC Peak). These same values apply to both the differential and common-mode input voltage limits for each model.
All other published characteristics — 30 MHz bandwidth, 14 ns rise time, ±2% gain accuracy, 5 MΩ / 2 pF input impedance each side to ground, ±7 V output into 1 MΩ, and the CMRR figures — are common across the series. Refer to the comparison table that follows for the model-by-model attenuation and voltage values.
| Model | Attenuation Ratio | Max Differential Voltage | Bandwidth |
|---|---|---|---|
| PR65 | 10x / 100x | ±70 V at 10x / ±700 V at 100x | 30 MHz |
| PR67 | 20x / 200x | ±140 V at 20x / ±1400 V at 200x | 30 MHz |
