If performance and handling are your priorities for your VW, Bilstein shocks are an excellent choice.  Bilstein has been making high performance shock absorbers for street, strip, track, and off-road applications in for decades.  They are still made in Germany, as they have been for all these years.  The shocks we carry are classified as a "B6" rating, which according to their own rating system "are a performance upgrade to OE dampers designed to be paired to the OE factory spring" and "will provide improved safety and handling performance with the added benefit of world-famous Bilstein quality".  Note that if a soft, mushy ride is your goal, these are not for you!  We've used these for decades ourselves (and are still using them!) for performance applications.
