Glycerin is a sugar alcohol made from animal products, plants, or petroleum. Vegetable glycerin is derived from plant oils. The process involves heating triglyceride-rich vegetable fats including palm, soy, and coconut oils under pressure or with a strong alkali like lye. This allows the glycerin to separate from the fatty acids and combine with water, resulting in an odorless, sweet-tasting syrup-like liquid.
COMMON USES

• Include it in your daily regimen if you have eczema, psoriasis, or dandruff. It also serves as a preservative in formulations. It's often used in soaps, lotions, deodorants, and makeup.
