Original watercolour and bodycolour (gouache) and chalk on paper, framed floated and raised in on a soft white mount, in a white wood grain box frame. The artwork is behind low reflect 70% UV filter glass and measures 80 x 60 cm.
The name for this painting comes from the Shetland Norn word for a strong tide or commotion in the sea. Peter’s regular walks around the coastline take in many headlands and inlets of the sea, known locally as ‘geos’ - equivalent to the Norwegian word fjord. From high up on the cliffs you can see the often turbulent rhythms of the tides much more clearly.
