Made in the 1960s this vintage cluster ring is set to centre with an impressive 5ct garnet with a stunning and unusual red hue with vivid pinkish-purple undertones. The garnet has an oval mixed-cut and is remarkably clear given its large size. Its colour is rich and intense, a delightful blend of raspberry pink, deep plum-purple and black-cherry red.
It has a bright and lively appearance and shimmers beautifully when turned under light. Claw-set in an open-back setting, surrounded by a halo of twenty round brilliant-cut natural diamonds, each perfectly matched in colour, estimated G-I. Claw-set in open-back settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.30ct.
The gallery is raised and features split-prong linear detailing throughout, the shoulders are open and feature chenier details, they taper inwards before flowing to a solid 18ct white gold band.
Unless stated otherwise, gem weights and specifications are estimated (assessed in mount).
